Three children leave hospital after horror Christmas crash killed their parents near Kondinin - 9News

The three children will soon return to the Kondinin home they left on Christmas Eve - only this time, without their parents.

While there are smiles on their faces, these three brave children are disguising the trauma of the past week.

Synthia, five, Bevan, two, and Charlez, one, survived 55 hours alone on the side of the road after their parents were killed in a horror car crash on Christmas morning.

Synthia, five, Bevan, two, and Charlez, one, survived 55 hours alone on the side of the road after their parents were killed in a horror car crash on Christmas morning.

Now, they're with family and out of hospital.

"[They are] full of life, jumped in the car, thought we might have had trouble getting one or two of them in their car seats, but they were straight in," their grandfather Richard Parker said.

The children will spend the night in Perth before heading home to Kondinin tomorrow, where their wrapped Christmas presents are still waiting under the tree.

"It's the first thing they'll see when they walk into the loungeroom, they're all left there," Parker said.

"Uncles and aunties are all going down for the trip. Good chance I'll end up moving down there as well just for support and we'll be going from there."

The family are also giving their heartfelt thanks today to family, friends and the entire Kondinin community as well as to strangers who have donated more than $120,000.

"It means a tremendous amount," he said.

And special praise to cousin Michael Read who fronted the cameras through an incredibly difficult time for the whole family.

"Just Michael, appreciate everything you did mate. You're a bloody legend."

This is a family trying to bridge the loss of two young parents Jake Day, 28, and Cindy Braddock, 25 but they have a message for others.

"Nine kays, it's only a little bit down the road. If you're not feeling right or tired, pull over, don't drive, it's not worth it."
