Teen dead, another injured in Sydney pedestrian crash in Carlingford - 7NEWS

One teenager died and another was injured when a car ploughed into pedestrians in Sydney’s northwest.

According to NSW Police, the crash occurred at about 11.20am on Thursday on Rembrandt St, Carlingford, at the back of a shopping centre.

Paramedics treated a 17-year-old boy, however, he died at the scene.

He has not been formally identified, but he is believed to have been a student at Carlingford High, located just 10 minutes away.

Another 17-year-old boy was injured and taken to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, a 90-year-old woman, had to be cut from her Mitsubishi Lancer sedan which had crashed into the side of a van after hitting a tree.

She was taken to hospital to undergo mandatory testing.

“Officers from Ryde Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit,” NSW police said in a statement.
