A chopper that crashed with five people on board has been located at Victoria’s Mount Disappointment.
Emergency services were called around 9.35am on Thursday after the helicopter went missing and, after hours of searching, police found the wreckage before midday.
The wreckage was found in the vicinity of Blair’s Hut.

There were five people on board at the time, including the pilot. It is unknown if there are any survivors.
The crash occurred as two helicopters were travelling north in a convoy from Melbourne’s CBD and over Mount Disappointment.
One then disappeared.
Both an air ambulance and a police helicopter were dispatched, and a widespread search began.
Low-lying cloud and thick tree cover impacted the search effort, but it was found at 11.45am.
The crash site is covered by such dense bushland that police and emergency crews had to be winched down to the location to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
A ground search of the area will commence later in the afternoon.
It is understood the helicopter was operated by Victorian family-owned business Microflite, which offers premium tours, charter flights and aircraft services.
An employee told 7NEWS the company would not comment at this early stage.
It is understood the helicopter took off from Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne’s south-east and stopped at the Melbourne City Helipad to collect passengers before heading north.
The second helicopter landed back at Moorabbin Airport without incident.
Mount Disappointment is about 80km north of Melbourne’s CBD.
Transport safety investigation underway
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau confirmed it is sending a team from Canberra to investigate the crash.
Chief Commissioner Angus Mitchell said saying experts in helicopter operations and maintenance and aerospace engineering have been deployed to the site.
“Once on site, they will examine the wreckage and site surrounds, and will retrieve any relevant components for further examination in the ATSB’s technical facilities in Canberra,” Chief Commissioner Angus Mitchell said.
“The ATSB will also analyse any recorded data and conduct interviews with those who have knowledge of the flight.”
Mr Mitchell said a preliminary report about the crash is expected to be published in six to eight weeks, with a final report to be released once the investigation is finished.
