Here are the questions we’re answering today:

1) How does one get a child in kindergarten or first grade to wear a mask for an entire school day, as now mandated by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine? You get them to start practicing now. Because Gov. Mike DeWine announced a statewide mask mandate for K-12 students headed to in-person school this fall.

2) What is the former Ohio Health Director, Dr. Amy Acton, doing now that she has completely left state government? Acton will run Kind Columbus for the Columbus Foundation, “dedicated to spreading the words and actions of kindness as a defining value for our region.”

3) How does the RTA police chief in Cleveland figure into a riveting new Netflix series on how the FBI took out the heads of the five major mob families in New York in the 1980s? Before becoming RTA police chief in 2005, John Joyce spent 25 years as a special agent in FBI, where his role features into “Fear City: New York vs The Mafia.”

4) What is the significant step Cuyahoga County government is taking to try to make voting go smoothly in the presidential election, and what is Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson trying to do on his end? Cuyahoga County will allow county employees to receive paid leave while serving as poll workers in November. Meanwhile, Jackson has offered Cleveland’s recreation centers and library branches as sites for what he describes as 24-hour, secure drop boxes for voters to return absentee ballots -- the issue is whether that’s legal.

5) How might the tentacles of ousted Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder likely to get his son an elected position in Perry County? Derek Householder in January raised $42,100 for his Perry County commission race.

6) The FBI conducted a raid in downtown Cleveland Tuesday and, surprise surprise, it was not at a government office. What were agents looking at involving a large Ukranian business? The FBI on Tuesday raided the offices of a downtown Cleveland real estate company, Optima Management Group, at One Cleveland Center.

7) With more and more college students staying at home to learn remotely for the fall semester, what is the Big Ten doing to make that a bit more attractive? Students will be able to take online courses at other Big Ten universities this fall for no additional cost.

8) Why is Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams making officers wear coronavirus masks even though City Council exempted them from the mandate? He says officers should operate under the assumption that everyone is positive for COVID-19.
