A woman is in a critical condition in hospital after a suspected arson attack at a property in Albanvale, in Melbourne's west.
Victoria Police said officers believed a man ignited a flammable liquid at the house in Sutherland Street, Albanvale, shortly after 5pm on Monday.
Other people at the address attempted to extinguish the blaze, which was eventually brought under control by firefighters at 5:50pm.
The 36-year-old woman suffered critical injuries, while a 17-year-old girl was treated for minor injuries.
A 38-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in hospital under police guard.
Police said the people were known to each other, and the incident is being investigated by the Arson and Explosive Squad.
