A man has been shot at a worksite in Melbourne’s west on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services rushed to the Rebecca Drive site in Ravenhall about 8.30am and discovered a man with a “non-life threatening gunshot wound” to his upper body.
Workers on site restrained a man on scene until police arrived.
An 89-year-old man is assisting police with their inquiries.
A caller to 3AW, identified as Annette and whose son was working at the worksite next door, said it was a citizen’s arrest.
“A guy has pulled up in a truck and came out and shot him twice … in the arm,” she said.
“It’s a citizen arrest. They’ve got him down.”
Ambulance Victoria confirmed a 59-year-old man was taken to hospital in a stable condition, with upper body injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still yet to be determined.
