NSW has recorded six new local COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, three linked to the Avalon cluster and three more reported after 8pm on Monday, including a mystery case from Wollongong.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the three overnight cases, including the mystery case from Wollongong, were unlinked to the northern beaches at this stage. The other two cases hailed from Sydney’s northern region and the inner west.

"The threat in Greater Sydney is almost becoming as equal to [southern] parts of the northern beaches and that's where we'll be adjusting potentially some of our restrictions," Ms Berejiklian said.
"Until those links are established, all of us in greater Sydney have to be on high alert."
Chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant said health authorities were interviewing the three unlinked cases, but initial information indicated the Wollongong case had been in the Sydney central business district.
Testing dipped over the holiday weekend with more than 16,000 tests done in the 24 hours to 8pm. Dr Chant said she would be happier if rates were higher than 20,000 tests a day.
Meanwhile, NSW Police Minister David Elliott has criticised 12 people from Sydney's northern beaches who were fined after allegedly attending a wedding in Pyrmont on Sunday.
The wedding guests received $1000 fines after police were tipped off.
