Officers responded to reports of an assault on William Street in Darlinghurst about 12.50am.
"A 26-year-old male constable attached to a specialist command was arrested at the scene and taken to Kings Cross Police Station," NSW Police said in a statement.
"The man was charged with three counts of common assault and one count of common assault (DV)."
The officer was granted bail and is scheduled to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday.
His employment is currently under review and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
