Emergency crews have received more than 800 calls for help across Victoria in the past 24 hours with around 150mm of rain falling in Gippsland, in eastern Victoria.
It comes as the state's emergency service issued a warning for residents in Gippsland, in Victoria's east, of heavy rain and potentially major flooding over the coming days.
Emergency crews earlier closed the Gypsy Point Road and the Mallacoota-Genoa Road due to the landslide, which was described as "the size of a house".
Tim Wiebusch, from the Victorian SES, said it was likely the slope would continue to cause issues over the coming hours and days for the only road in and out of Mallacoota.
"That landslide is currently isolating the Mallacoota township," he said.
"We expect the road will be open, but residents need to be aware that the Genoa River could overflow and cut off that road again later today.
"It's in a rather remote location and we're lucky there has been no traffic caught up in that landslide, but it is likely to cause isolation."
The risk of storms and flooding continues for the state over the coming days with a further 50-100mm of rainfall expected to fall across Gippsland today.
It's expected the majority of that rainfall will be between Traralgon and the NSW border where moderate to major flooding could occur.
In the past 12 hours, the Victorian SES has responded to hundreds of calls for help, with 500 of those linked to trees coming down due to damaging winds, there has also been flash flooding across Gippsland.
Melbourne also didn't escape the weather carnage, with suburbs in the outer-east reporting trees falling onto houses and cars.
