By Excited Victorian parent
Much excitement in our house this morning with our grade 2 heading back to school today. I was worried about her getting ready in time as routines have rather fallen apart in our house but she was up at 6.30… happy with a touch of nerves!

Victoria AND Tasmania hit 70% double-dose vaccination rates
Yahooooo!
The PM has just confirmed to Channel Seven's Sunrise that both Victoria and Tasmania have officially hit their 70 per cent vaccination targets.
"I officially confirm, just got the figures, Victoria has reached 70.51 per cent double dose vaccination rate right across the state. And good on Tasmania as well, because they have hit 70.6 per cent," he says.
And it's good timing too, with just one day left of Melbourne's lockdown before a raft of restrictions ease.

PM says more skilled migrants will be on their way to Australia soon
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he's expecting an increase in skilled migrants coming to Australia from next month after months and months of staffing struggles for businesses due to closed borders.
Mr Morrison told Channel Seven that things will start to change from November.
"On students in particular, and skilled migration, we will see that happening in NSW next month," he says.
"We will start seeing that in late November, early December. On international visitors, we will see how Australians coming back goes first there."

NSW to start making its own RNA, mRNA vaccines
The NSW Government is set to announce a $95 million new facility to develop and manufacture mRNA and RNA vaccines locally.
The facility is expected to include clinical spaces and laboratories used to trial vaccine manufacturing capabilities.
It comes three months after the state government announced a partnership with the new state-based RNA Bioscience Alliance, made up of all universities in NSW.
The Victorian government pledged $50 million to "kickstart" domestic manufacturing of mRNA vaccine technology in April, but James Merlino, who was acting Premier at the time, said it'd take at least 12 months to get to the stage where the vaccines can actually be produced in Australia.
