Senior government ministers are reportedly investigating changing the state’s roadmap for unvaccinated residents in favour of easing restrictions once 95 per cent of locals are fully vaccinated.
However, while freedoms for the unvaccinated may be postponed the government could accelerate parts of the original roadmap - planned for a December 1 opening.
The move comes amid a new COVID-19 outbreak linked to a gym and pub in Bondi.
The Tea Gardens Hotel in Bondi was linked to at least ten confirmed infections on Friday, with NSW Health referring the pub to NSW Liquor and Gaming to review its Covid-19 safety measures.
Officials believe the 10 confirmed cases may have attended while infectious or caught the virus there on October 23.
Anyone who visited the popular pub on that date from 7.30pm is considered a casual contact who must immediately get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result.
“Casual contacts should get tested, even if they have had a test recently. If you receive a negative result, please continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms appear, get tested and isolate again,” the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District said in a statement.
The Tea Gardens Hotel outbreak is the second in an inner city venue since Greater Sydney came out of lockdown on October 11.
Earlier this week the City Gym at Darlinghurst was labelled a Covid-19 exposure site after 15 cases were linked to it.
A final decision on the reopening date for the unvaccinated is expected to be made next week.
