Tonight, lows will drop to the upper-40s with showers and storms moving tonight.
A Flash Flood Watch will go into effect late tonight and will not expire until Monday morning with all counties in the Heart of Illinois under the watch. Showers and storms will be a problem all day for your Sunday and there are severe chances which we will discuss below. Highs tomorrow will reach the low-60s.
The placement of the warm front will be the hot-ticket item to watch as we prepare for Sunday, specifically Sunday evening. The timing of which will be discussed below. As for severe storm threats, everything is on the table. High wind up to 60 miles per hour is possible as well as isolated hail. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out either. Flooding is the threat to watch for your Sunday with the aforementioned Flash Flood Watch in effect. Scattered flash flooding and general flooding from continued heavy rain will be a threat to your Sunday. If you come across floodwaters, a flooded roadway, etc. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH IT. Turn around, don't drown. Stay out of floodwaters, you don't know how deep it is or what is in it.
Heavy rain will b a problem all day but for severe storms, I believe the timing will e between 5 PM and 11 PM. The dark reds in the above picture show high confidence in our in-house model of seeing very heavy rain during this time. If you have plans during that 3-hour period I recommend postponing them to another time. Rain will continue through the nigh into Monday and will effect the first morning commute of the workweek.
