'We just want to know he's okay': Fears for Perth dad missing for nearly a month - 9News

A family is pleading for the public's help to find their missing family member, not seen for nearly a month.

Perth father Daniel O'Mara disappeared 29 days ago, and was last seen about 11.30pm on March 9, leaving a home in Roleystone, Perth in his white and silver Toyota Hilux ute.

"He told mum he wanted to be around loved ones for his birthday and then he just didn't show up so, yeah really concerned," sister Tania O'Mara said.

His car was found 19 days later in remote bushland in Mount Wells, ten kilometres east of Albany Highway, in North Bannister.

Inside was his mobile phone, keys, wallet and bible.

He told his friends he was driving to his dad's house in Manning, but never arrived.

The ute was 100 kilometres from his planned destination.

"Despite all the efforts of Emergency Services we have been unable to locate Mr O'Mara and we're now seeking any public assistance we can in attempting to locate him," Superintendent Mark Longman from WA Police said.

O'Mara's family said he's had a hard few years, including a marriage breakup and not being able to see his four children, who live in Newcastle, north-east of Perth.

"He was under constant stress all the time and I think, this is just a way out for him," his dad Kevin said.

Despite missing for almost a month, O'Mara's family remain hopeful he'll be found.

They said he has the right skills to survive in the harsh West Australian bush.

"Call the Police or reach out to any of us, we just want to know he's ok and just that he's ok and we love him," his sister said.
