A father and his 15-year-old son have wrestled an armed man who allegedly stabbed the boy in their Gold Coast home.
The son found the intruder in his bedroom in his Varsity Lakes unit about 1am on Wednesday.
The teen, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, fought the man and was stabbed in the torso in the melee.

His father told 7NEWS he was woken by “really intense screaming”.
“I jumped up and ran into the other room and saw the boy with an intruder,” he said.
“He was on top of the intruder. The intruder had come in and stabbed him in the side.
“The lad had managed to get the knife off him, pin him to the ground and he was screaming out for me to come and help him.”
The dad said he held the man down until police arrived.
The boy was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to the non-life-threatening wound.
He has since been released from hospital.
A 52-year-old Varsity Lakes man was charged with wounding, break-and-entering and possession of a knife.
He remains behind bars ahead of an appearance in Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Police believe the man is a stranger to the family.
