NSW premier's younger brother reappears in Sydney after conclusion of parliamentary inquiry - 9News

The younger brother of New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet has emerged in the Sydney suburb of Mosman after sparking an international hunt for his whereabouts.
Twenty-six-year-old Jean-Claude Perrottet had successfully evaded private process servers in a bid to avoid fronting a parliamentary inquiry.

Before today, the financier hadn't been seen in several weeks.

"As I put in my statement I was overseas," Jean-Claude Perrottet told 9News when confronted today.

The inquiry into allegations of impropriety at the Hills Shire Council concluded last week to make way for the NSW parliament's caretaker period for the state election.

The claims were made under parliamentary privilege by NSW MP Ray Williams.

The inquiry heard allegations from engineer Fritz Mare that Jean-Claude Perrottet was involved in attempted branch stacking and allegedly sought $50,000 from the businessman in a bid to unseat federal MP Alex Hawke from the Mitchell electorate in 2019.

Liberal Party powerbroker Christian Ellis is also accused of being involved. Ellis has reportedly been spotted in the bush since he was called to front the inquiry.

The NSW premier claims he has not spoken to his younger brother since he was called to appear before the parliamentary committee and today Dominic Perrottet confirmed the Liberal Party was conducting its own investigation.

"I know the state director is looking into those matters," he said.

"And if anyone has done anything wrong appropriate action should be taken and the book should be thrown at them."

9News located the younger Perrottet outside a Mosman home. He declined to comment further on why he hadn't appeared at the inquiry.
