Tadros, 10, was left fighting for life following the helicopter crash that killed his mother and three others on the Gold Coast on Monday, January 2.

“Nicholas may need to have his right foot amputated,” Bakhos wrote online.

“Nicholas will need all your prayers over the next couple weeks before surgeons try again.

Heartbreakingly, Bakohs revealed that Tadros does not yet know his mother was killed in the crash.

He urged the community to pray for Tadros’ father Simon Tadros “to get him through this tough time”.

“He will have to face Nicholas in the coming days to let him know his mum been taken to heaven and also let him know that he may be losing a foot, which will be a major blow to Nicholas’ mental state of mind,” Bakhos said.

Tadros’ mother Vanessa Tadros, 36, was farewelled in a ceremony at Saint John the Beloved in Mount Druitt on Monday.

Husband Simon Tadros’ eulogy was punctuated by silences as he held back tears in unison with hundreds of mourners at the Maronite Catholic church in Western Sydney.

“Vanessa was a special person. Her smile was infectious ... she had a pure heart ... every day we grew strong together. She was our protector,” he told the congregation.

“To my beautiful wife, I will always love you no matter what challenges face us. I know you’ll always be with me. Rest in peace, beautiful.”

Amid the anguish of farewelling his wife of 12 years, Tadros found space for lightness.

“If you knew my wife, she’d call me rude if I didn’t thank everybody, so thank you for coming.”

British couple Ron and Diane Hughes and pilot Ashley Jenkinson were also killed in the crash.

Jenkinson’s funeral was held on the Gold Coast on Friday, January 13.

Air Transport Safety Bureau investigators are not expected to complete their probe into the accident until September, 2024.
