Mark Horne, 32, was arrested last Wednesday after he was found hiding out on a luxury yacht in Darwin, bringing an end to months spent on the run.

He was on bail on a charge of shooting a truck driver during a 2020 robbery at Lithgow when he allegedly went on the run in October, sparking a nationwide manhunt.

The 32-year-old allegedly left his Arncliffe home and cut off his ankle bracelet in an Uber at Riverwood before chartering a plane from Bankstown airport to Queensland.

"The team found the man hiding in the hull of the vessel," NT Police Commander Matt Hollamby said.

"We thought this was a little bit suspicious and it turned out it was who we thought it was."
