OKLAHOMA CITY -
First Americans Museum is hosting an all-day celebration for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
There will be special programming to highlight the cultures, languages, dances and traditions of the indigenous community.
There are 39 federally recognized tribes in Oklahoma and each are honored differently throughout the museum.
News 9’s Erika Lee will have more on the significance of FAM’s first indigenous peoples’ celebration, what the holiday means to tribal members and the what types of events you can expect all day at the museum.
