Victoria records no new coronavirus cases, 33 days in a row - The Age

Victoria has recorded no new coronavirus cases for the 33rd day in a row.

The result comes after more than 12,000 Victorians were tested on Tuesday and thousands more travelled to Queensland and South Australia to reunite with friends and loved ones after months apart.

Queensland and South Australia began allowing Victorian travellers in on Tuesday, without quarantine restrictions.

Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan announced that Victorians would be allowed into his state from next Tuesday, December 8.

Mr McGowan praised Victoria's "unrivalled" success in quashing COVID-19 case numbers and said the eastern state had met WA's benchmark to ease travel restrictions – 28 consecutive days with no new cases. In fact, Victoria had reached 32 days when he made the announcement.
