Metra Extends $10 All-Day Pass Offer Into 2021 Amid Pandemic - Patch.com

ILLINOIS — As the coronavirus pandemic continues, Metra is extending its $10 all-day pass deal through Jan. 31, 2021. The all-day pass grants commuters unlimited rides on any Metra lines until 3 a.m. the following day.

Since Metra began offering the all-day pass in June 2020, about one-third of riders have taken advantage of the deal. Metra officials advise that using the $10 all-day pass could be less expensive than buying two one-way fares.

The all-day passes are good for the day purchased, unless they are bought within the Ventra app. Then they are good for seven days from the date of purchase.

"The $10 all-day pass has been very well-received by our customers because it offers flexibility and affordability," said Metra CEO/Executive Director Jim Derwinski said in a news release. "And using the Ventra app to purchase the pass is the safest way to buy Metra tickets, allowing customers to 'Touch Less, Pay Less."

Metra is currently running on alternate schedules due to a decrease in ridership during the pandemic. Click the link to view Metra's alternative schedules.
