EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.

Nov. 20

6:15 p.m.: A man approached an officer in the 4400 block of CenterPlace Drive wanting to know if it is illegal to put train horns on his pickup truck.

Nov. 21

8:30 a.m.: Police responded to a complaint of three dogs barking all day long in the 8700 block of 16th Street. An officer listened for more than 10 minutes and didn’t hear a single bark. He left his card on the dog owner’s door.

10:30 a.m.: Police again responded to a complaint of barking in the 8700 block of 16th Street. The officer listened for another 10 minutes and again didn’t hear any barking. The officer’s card was still on the door.

2 p.m.: A caller at a grocery store in the 2800 block of 35th Avenue complained he was being turned away for not wearing a mask. An officer told him to shop elsewhere. The man wanted to argue, but the officer ended the conversation.

2:30 p.m.: A manager at the grocery store in the 2800 block of 35th Avenue wanted information on how to handle situation involving customers who refuse to wear a mask. Police advised to follow the store’s legal advice through corporate and affirmed he had the right to refuse service to someone not wearing a mask.

Nov. 22

1:15 a.m.: Police responded to apartments in the 1200 block of 26th Avenue, where a man passed out drunk right in front of someone’s door.

11 a.m.: Police responded to the area of 4th Street and 63rd Avenue, where a woman reported hearing a high-pitched whine while walking her dog under the bridge. Police didn’t find anything.

9:15 p.m.: A caller in the 500 block of 9th Avenue reported his car was missing. He found it one parking lot over.

Nov. 23

1 a.m.: A caller in the 2400 block of 14th Avenue said he was locked out of the house by his mother and stepdad even though he is on the lease. They unlocked the door after he knocked, which he hadn’t tried before calling.

3 a.m.: Police responded to a report of suspicious activity at a store in the 2900 block of 10th Street, where a delivery driver saw three people inside the store. They were employees stocking overnight.

12:45 p.m.: A caller in the 1200 block of 26th Avenue had questions about driving her car legally. She said she was trying to register a new car, but the Division of Motor Vehicles is closed and not accepting appointments.

2:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2100 block of 5th Avenue reported a man with a badge was taking pictures of all the cars in the parking lot. He told the caller he was an agent and wouldn’t say anything further. Police advised he might have been a bounty hunter.

5:45 p.m.: Police responded to apartments in the 2700 block of 25th Street, where a man tried opening up someone’s door a few times. The man was hallucinating and had cotton mouth, as well as large pupils, but no drugs were found.
