Here are the key matches for day eight of the Australian Open:

The focus from many will be on de Minaur but some of you may have noticed an unusual winged logo on Rublev’s clothing and headband.

That is because he launched his own range of clothing last year naming the brand Rublo.

At the launch, he said 100 per cent of sales would go to children in need.

Outstanding return game from de Minaur, just when he needed it.

Had the wind at his back and Rublev was serving with old balls but de Minaur did a great job keeping the ball deep and staying aggressive with his baseline positioning.

Gets the break back, and now will serve to make it four-all, with the aid of new balls

Huge statement from de Minaur who burst out to 0-40 against Rublev’s serve and then finished the job with a furious rally that ended with Rublev hitting it out.

It’s back on serve and we are also due to have new balls.

Rublev leads 4-3 with de Minaur to serve next.

The crowd is back in this match too.

At the Open to watch Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev at Tennis Australia’s invitation-only O area on Sunday night were Goldman Sachs chair Josh Frydenberg and wife Amie.

They sat in the front row for the match next to Tennis Australia chair and Virgin chief executive Jayne Hydrlicka and Nine chief executive Mike Sneesby.

Also in a prime front-row seat was tennis legend Rod Laver enjoying the match at his namesake venue, and broadcaster Libbi Gorr.

Barbora Krejcikova has outlasted teenager Mirra Andreeva to make the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

The Czech No.9 seed won 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

She let out a huge scream after the win, as she really had to battle against the 16-year-old. Krejcikova will face reigning champion Aryna Sabalenka in the quarters.

The air has gone out of Rod Laver Arena, at least for the moment, as Rublev breaks de Minaur in the fourth game of the first set.

Now he will serve to try to consolidate that break.

Tough moment for the Demon, and a big chance for Rublev to stamp his mark on this first set.

Aussie actress Rebel Wilson is in the crowd tonight.

Rublev’s rocky emotions were on show in the early points as he fumed about the wind and its influence on his ball toss.

He made two double faults to hand two break points to the Aussie, and de Minaur had a volley at the net for the break but sadly, smacked it into the net.

Opportunity lost and Rublev eventually held.

Alex de Minaur’s moment of truth has arrived.

Dumped out of the Australian Open in the fourth round the past two years, the Demon has a big opportunity tonight against a very good player in Andrey Rublev, but one he has beaten three times in five clashes.

De Minaur has reached only one quarter-final from 25 previous grand slam appearances (the 2020 US Open), but he is in the form of his life and seems ready to finally go deep at one of these.

We have a fun but nerve-jangling night ahead ...
