A woman has been charged with murder after a man was allegedly deliberately hit by a car and pinned against a wall in Sydney's Wentworth Point last night.
Key points:
- Police said they pair were known to each other
- The pair are alleged to have been arguing before the woman got in the car and 'deliberately' struck the man
- A 44-year-old woman has been charged with murder
Emergency services were called to a carpark at a unit complex on Hill Road in the inner-west suburb at about 8:30pm, after reports a man had been struck by a Toyota Kluger and pinned against a wall.
The 31-year-old man, who lived in the unit block, was treated by police and paramedics but died at the scene.
The alleged driver, a 44-year-old woman, was arrested and taken to Concord Hospital to be treated for a broken wrist.
Police allege the pair, who had previously been in a relationship, were arguing before the woman got in the car and deliberately struck the man.
The woman was later taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with domestic violence-related murder.
The scene has been examined by forensic police and an investigation is continuing.
Acting Superintendent Peter Glynn from Auburn Police Area Command said witnesses and emergency services personnel attended a "very chaotic and traumatic" scene.
"The incident was captured on CCTV and that’s being reviewed by our detectives."
The woman, from Quakers Hill, was denied bail at Parramatta Court this morning.
She is expected to reappear before Central Local Court on Thursday.
"The NSW Police force takes very seriously all reports of domestic violence, and domestic violence perpetrators will be dealt with accordingly," Acting Superintendent Glynn said.
