Naaz Ali lived next door to the victim and said she witnessed the alleged incident from just metres away.
'I really didn't think that I was going to see anything like that,' she told The Daily Telegraph.
Ms Ali said her first instinct was to run away and call police.
'We just took off and called the cops … the man's body was just so badly mangled … I think I just lost my mind after that,' Ms Ali said.
Mr Thagipur, 31, had only recently moved into the unit complex with a dog named Coco.
Musa was taken to Concord Hospital before she was later taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with murder.

Police allege the pair got into an argument before she got into the vehicle and deliberately struck Mr Thagipur.
Musa appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday morning where she was refused bail and will remain in prison until another court appearance on Thursday.
Police said the entire incident was captured on CCTV and there had been numerous witnesses at the scene.
The pair were previously in a relationship but police say there were no prior domestic violence incidents between the pair.
Police said witnesses have been traumatised by what they saw and described the scene as 'chaotic'.
