Temperatures are expected to soar into the mid-40s in some parts of the state tomorrow, while wind gusts are predicted to reach up to 90km/h and widespread dry lightning.
South Australian Country Fire Service chief officer Brett Loughlin compared the forecasted weather conditions to conditions experienced during the 2019-20 bushfire season.
"The best thing that people can do is have their bushfire survival plan and have it ready and enacted well before any fire starts near their location," Loughlin said.
"Waiting for a fire to start in your area is very likely to be too late under the forecast conditions tomorrow."
The weather is expected to bring catastrophic fire risk for five areas, including the eastern Eyre Peninsula, Flinders, York Peninsula, Mid-North and Riverland weather districts.
A total fire ban tomorrow will be in place in five additional areas due to an extreme fire danger risk, including the West Coast, North East Pastorals, the Mount Lofty Ranges, the Murraylands and Upper South East.
Dry lightning will create a risk of fires starting anywhere thunderstorms occur.
The Commonwealth will fly a large Boeing 737 airtanker into the state tonight to provide the state's firefighters which will bolster the state's additional aircraft fleet.
"The forecast winds tomorrow are such that there is likely to be times when our aircraft will be unable to safely fly and fight fires," Loughlin said.
"It is crucial that people do not rely on firefighters and aviation assets to save them."
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the outback town of Oodnadatta could reach 47 degrees tomorrow.
Those conditions will then be followed by more than a month's worth of rain from Saturday to Sunday.
Falls are expected to reach 40 to 70 millimetres in some parts of the state.
Preparations are underway for Carols by Candlelight here at Elder Park on the bank of the River Torrens but event organisers are monitoring the forecast.
