A woman's estranged husband has been charged with her murder and allegedly attempting to kill two young girls in a NSW Central West car crash.
Thirty-six-year-old mother-of-two Kristy Armstrong died at the scene of a car and a ute crash on Speedy Street in Molong, near Orange, about 3.40pm on June 9.
Her estranged husband Troy Armstrong, 35, was the driver of the ute.
NSW Police said two girls aged 8 and 11 were treated by paramedics at the scene of the crash and were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
"The driver of the ute – a 35-year-old man – was freed from his vehicle by Fire and Rescue NSW and treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was transported to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition," NSW Police said in a statement.
"Police established a crime scene, which was forensically examined by specialist police."
While Mr Armstrong was in hospital, police charged him with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
He has been refused bail and is expected to appear before Parramatta Bail Court by video today.
