A 12-year-old boy has been hospitalised after being struck by a car evading authorities during a Queensland police intercept in Brisbane's south.
A highway patrol spotted the unregistered car on Kessels Road at Macgregor shortly after midday.
Police said the vehicle sped off and ran a red light, hitting a boy who was crossing an intersection on Mains Road near the Sunnybank Plaza.
They said the male driver, aged in his 20s, fled the scene and has not been found yet.
The boy suffered a head injury and multiple fractures and was taken to the Queensland Children's Hospital where he is now in a stable condition.
Police say the Ethical Standards Command has been advised of the incident.
