A pregnant woman is fighting for life in intensive care after being hit in the head with a rock, causing her to go into cardiac arrest at a shopping centre in Perth’s south.
WA Police say the brutal ordeal unfolded when a fight broke out between the occupants of a vehicle and a group of people standing in the carpark of a Karawara shopping centre on Madding Road between 7pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday.
A 17-year-old male then allegedly threw a rock at the car, which went through the open front passenger window and hit the 30-year-old woman in the head.

The impact caused her to go into cardiac arrest.
Police and bystanders rushed to give the woman CPR until paramedics arrived, and she was taken to hospital, where she remains in the intensive care unit.
“The woman was five months pregnant, and we have some concerns for her safety and her baby’s safety,” Inspector Brett Baddock of the Cannington District Office said.
The woman remains in a critical condition, however, her baby was still alive.
A 17-year-old male from Kensington has been charged with grievous bodily harm and breach of bail.
He is due to face Perth Children’s Court on Wednesday.
It’s understood the parties were not known to each other.
