The department of health has added five new locations to their list of exposure sites which now numbers more than 160.
A Coles Express in Braeside and several shops at Epping Plaza shopping centre are among the new additions.

Victoria Police arrested 14 protesters and dished out 55 penalty notices while two police were injured when Saturday’s anti-lockdown protest turned violent.
A Victoria Police statement estimated approximately 150 people.

Two police were left with minor injuries as was one protester when police were attempting to arrest six protesters on Victoria St, North Melbourne and the matter turned violent with OC spray used in the clash.
Victoria Police said they would continue to monitor public areas during lockdown.
“Victoria Police will continue to have a highly visible presence in the Melbourne CBD, on the roads and across the public transport network over coming days to support the community in complying with the CHOs directions,” the statement said.
“Those who choose to blatantly disregard the CHOs directions and put the health and safety of all Victorians in jeopardy can expect to be held accountable and fined.”

Australians are learning to deal with lockdown loneliness. According to new research from the Australia Institute, we are now much closer to our friends and families than ever before. Three in five Australians feel more connected to friends and family in 2021 compared to 2020.
Health Minister Martin Foley says four of the five locally acquired COVID-19 cases recorded in the state on Saturday were related to a worker from a large food distribution centre who travelled across Melbourne over a 10-day period.
The total number of cases linked to the cluster has climbed to 35, with the other new case linked to the Port Melbourne workplace outbreak.

While all of Saturday’s cases had known links to previous cases, the Health Minister said it remained a “day-by-day” proposition whether Victoria’s seven-day lockdown would end as planned.
“It is too early to make that announcement. Today is the second day of seven days,” he said.
“We will continue to work through the evidence as it comes in, day by day, and keep Victorians informed”.
Despite constant messages from the government, suppliers and supermarkets, it appears some Victorians still made a run on toilet paper when the lockdown was called.
Mitchell Scott tweeted this picture today from a Melbourne supermarket, there have been several other pictures doing the rounds too.
Both Coles and Woolworths have said there is plenty of toilet paper and other vital items, so there is no need to stock up.
Sadly shoppers at this store at Stud Park, Rowville in the outer south-east must have missed the message.
There were a record 43,458 vaccine doses administered in Victoria, beating Thursday’s previous record of 41,389.
There were 121,610 vaccine doses administered nationwide on Friday, down slightly from Thursday’s record tally of 124,871.
Victoria has now reached 1 per cent of its total population being fully vaccinated, 15.2 per cent having received one vaccine dose.
But the proportion of Victorians who have received two vaccine doses is likely higher than what is being reported in the data because the federal health department, which has administered about 60 per cent of the state’s vaccine doses, does not provide a breakdown of first and second dose numbers.

You will notice that there are typically five days in a row of high dose numbers followed by two days of very low numbers – that is because the high days are weekdays and the low days are weekends.
Some states, such as Queensland, show a single-day surge on April 18 that exceeds any day since - this is because of delayed dose data being added to the state’s tally, not because there was a stampede to get vaccinated on that day.

Age reader Steve has finally had his vaccine jab after waiting almost six hours in line.
We reported on Steve’s long wait in a blog post at 2.25pm today after he opted to join the walk-in line at Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre this morning following ‘hours’ spent trying to call and book an appointment in recent days.
He joined the line at 8.50am only to find technical issues with the computer system had slowed the line to a crawl.
Steve, who is in his 40s, finally received his vaccine dose just before 3pm.
Upon leaving, he estimated the wait for those left in line was down to an hour or less.
The state government said the technical issues were ‘remedied’ by early afternoon and they apologised for the delay.
The government has updated information on the department of health website about approximate waiting times and vaccine hub locations.
Isolation won’t be a problem for Melbourne University arts student Sobur Dhieu during Victoria’s snap lockdown, but finding a quiet place and even the uninterrupted use of her own computer might be.
Ms Dhieu, 20, lives in Brookfield with her mum, dad and eight siblings, six of whom are school students ranging from twins in prep to a brother in year 12.

It’s noisy, crowded and chaotic, but the family was “trying to make the best of it” as they began an unexpected week stuck at home together, including renewing their 2020 lockdown ritual of a Friday night family movie night, she said.
“I just think they are getting on. My siblings are happy to be at home not having to go to class today but I think they do understand it’s going to be hard next week.”
