Sixth new locally acquired case recorded in Victoria
Acting Premier James Merlino says the Department of Health was just notified of a sixth new case, which will be included in tomorrow's tally.
It brings the total number of cases linked to the outbreak to 15.
He said Case 5, which was announced yesterday, is a close contact of Case 1.
Cases 6, 7, 8 and 9 are in different households to Case 5, but are in the same family unit.
Cases 10, 11 and 12 were workplace primary close contacts of Case 9.
Case 13 is another contact of Case 1.
Cases 14 and 15 are workplace contacts of Case 9.
"So in the last 36 hours we went from Case 1, which was the first line of investigation, to identifying Cases 2-5, the second line of investigation, to identifying 7-9 through the third line of investigation, to [other cases]," he said.
"These cases are linked, and that's a good thing, but we are very concerned by the number and by the exposure sites."
