Women on flight from Qatar to Australia searched on tarmac after human foetus reportedly found in Doha airport bathroom - ABC News

The Australian Government has registered "serious concerns" with Qatar after several passengers on board a flight from Doha to Sydney were reportedly subjected to an invasive internal examination.

Seven News reports that flight attendants in Doha discovered a human foetus in an airport terminal bathroom earlier this month.

According to the report, women on board a flight, including 13 Australians, were then detained and forced to undergo an examination in an ambulance on the tarmac.

The women were not told why.

The Government says it is aware of the reports and is waiting on more detailed information from Qatari authorities.

"We have formally registered our serious concerns regarding the incident with Qatari authorities and have been assured that detailed and transparent information on the event will be provided soon," a DFAT spokesperson said.

More to come.
