Victoria records 14 new coronavirus cases as Melbourne's rolling average increases to 9.5 - ABC News

Victoria has recorded 14 new coronavirus cases as Melbourne's rolling average of daily COVID-19 cases increases.

It is the third day in a row no new deaths from the virus have been recorded in the state.

The number of coronavirus cases without a known source has decreased by two to 10.

Melbourne's 14-day average of daily cases has increased slightly to 9.5, up from 9.4 yesterday.

Regional Victoria's average remains at 0.4.

The state recorded 11 cases of COVID-19 on Friday, including nine in metropolitan Melbourne and one where the location was still being investigated.

One of the cases was linked to a cluster in the regional town of Kilmore, north of Melbourne.

The cluster began when an infectious person from Melbourne's Chadstone Butcher Club outbreak dined in the town.

The outbreak has prompted Kilmore businesses to voluntarily shut up shop for two weeks as a precaution.

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said it was the first non-staff member infected inside the Kilmore cafe.

"We think it’s a casual contact of the cafe, a direct casual contact of the cafe, so someone who went in for a short period of time," he said yesterday.

An outbreak at Box Hill Hospital grew to four cases, including three staff and one patient, but the source has not yet been confirmed.

All staff have been tested, and all close contacts had been asked to quarantine.

More to come.
