Police have shut down multiple parties across the city, including one on a sandbar in Sydney’s south where about100 people were gathered.
At 3pm, police from Sutherland Shire Police Area command attended Lilli Pilli Point following reports of about 100 people gathering on the sandbar. The crowd dispersed as police arrived.
Several people were treated by paramedics for intoxication. There were no arrests made.
Elsewhere, emergency services were called just after 4pm to a party at Whiting Beach near Bradley’s Head in Mosman, where a teenager was pulled unconscious from the water. Bystanders performed CPR and the teenager regained consciousness.
He has been transported to Royal North Shore hospital.
There are also reports of another party near the site of the former Manly Aquarium, where about 100 people have gathered.
Under COVID-19 restrictions, no more than 30 people can gather outside in a public place which includes parks and beaches in greater Sydney.
Sydney experienced its hottest day of a five-day heatwave on Tuesday as temperatures spiked at 40 degrees at the airport and 36 degrees in the CBD.
