A 20-year-old man has been arrested by NSW Police in connection with the death of an 18-year-old woman in a Maitland home.
Police said they were treating the woman's death as suspicious and believed the pair were known to each other.
In a statement, NSW Police said officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter district found the woman's body inside a home on Galway Crescent in Maitland, in the lower Hunter Valley, around 1.30am Saturday.
The woman is yet to be identified.
The man has been arrested and was taken to Maitland Police Station. A crime scene has been set up around the home, with officers from the State Crime Command's homicide squad assisting with the investigation.
More to come.
