Jockey Mark Zahra says he had a tough week leading into today’s race but he knew Without A Fight was a chance to win the Caulfield Cup.
“What a moment - I’m so happy,” Jockey Mark Zahra told Channel Seven.
“I don’t really celebrate much but with the week I’ve had, some of the things that have gone on.
“My wife gave me a kick this week and said just focus on the ride you have got, it’s a good chance.”
Without A Fight has won the Caulfield Cup.

When Buffalo River arrived in Australia from Europe, having had four starts overseas, his form hardly looked impressive.
But when he won five of his first six races, he seemed destined to leave a mark on the Victorian racing scene.
That run of wins ended in May 2020, and between then and September 2023 he won just one of his next 27 races.
That win was the Moonga Stakes, at Caulfield, in October 2021.
Today’s win at Caulfield, his second victory in his past three starts, underlines an incredible turnaround in form.
A front-runner by nature, Buffalo River led his rivals and proved too strong in the finish, to claim his second Moonga Stakes and push his career prizemoney earnings beyond $1 million.

“I wanted to match his outfit. There’s a lot of colour today but I’m feeling at home in grey.”
The look was completed by Balenciaga sunglasses and a hat from Millinery Jill.
“I’ll be judging the best dressed racewear, so I had to look the part. The bonus is I have a wedding tonight so there’s no need to change.”

Those congregating within could be considered the event’s most fervent racing fans, paying annual MRC membership fees between $485 - $1800.
But with less than an hour before the biggest race of the day, many have turned their attention away from the racecourse to the Medallion Club bar.
Fans have also packed into the public lawn and are enjoying the festivities, the MRC told this masthead earlier that they expect the final crowd will pass 25,000 people.

Caulfield Cup favourite Gold Trip will be given until the last minute to take his spot in the $5 million feature race amid concerns from trainers over the firmness of the track.
Connections are taking a cautious approach with last year’s Melbourne Cup winner, with a strong eye towards next month’s title defence at Flemington.

The Caulfield track was rated a Good 4 on Saturday morning and co-trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace are hopeful it will not dry out in windy conditions ahead of race time at 5.15pm AEDT.
“It is something we’ll have to monitor throughout the day,” Eustace told RSN 927.
Gold Trip was second to Chris Waller’s Durston in last year’s Caulfield Cup before claiming a famous Melbourne Cup triumph as the top-weight.
If he runs in the 2400m staying test on Saturday, the $6 TAB favourite will have to defy a 58.5kg impost to salute under Ben Melham.
The Maher-Eustace stable has four runners in the field - Gold Trip, Duke De Sessa, Right You Are and United Nations - after the latter was called up as an emergency.
