The sole survivor of a townhouse fire that killed four people in Glen Waverley a week ago has been released without charge.
Kaoru Okano and her three young daughters, aged 3, 5 and 8, died when fire ravaged their townhouse on January 10.
Hiroyuki Kikuchi, 50, sustained burns after he attempted to enter the residence in Melbourne's south-east as the blaze took hold.
Neighbours said they heard Mr Kikuchi shouting "please save my daughters" before he tried several times to enter the burning home.
Police confirmed they interviewed Mr Kikuchi on Friday.
"At this time, no one has been charged and the investigation remains ongoing," a police spokesman said on Saturday night.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
