A man has been left fighting for his life after he was allegedly punched to the ground in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley on Tuesday night.
Two men from a nearby apartment complex have been charged with assault-related charges.
Police will allege they became involved in a verbal spat with two men walking along Water Street at 8.45pm.
The two men, one armed with a crowbar, came down from their apartment block and confronted the two other men on Trinity Street, police will allege.
It will be alleged a further fight broke out before one of the men from the apartment punched one of the other men, causing him to fall and hit his head.
The 37-year-old Fortitude Valley man sustained “life-threatening injuries” and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition where he is fighting for life.
Police have charged a 29-year-old Logan Central man with grievous bodily harm and a 28-year-old Fortitude Valley man with going armed so as to cause fear and two counts of common assault.
Both men are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
