We received a lot of questions yesterday asking when we will know more about when the SA border with Victoria will be relaxed. SA's Chief Public Health Officer, Nicola Spurrier, says the issue will be discussed at this morning's transition committee meeting (usually about 9:30-10:30am (ACDT).
But Dr Spurrier warned that the number of people getting tested for COVID-19 had declined in SA.
This is a worry for her as she says testing rates must stay high if border and other restrictions are to ease.
"Whenever we make these significant changes, it is also important for us to keep getting tested, if you wake up with a sore throat, runny nose, a bit of a cold, don't wait for a couple of days," she said.
Currently, only essential travellers, people permanently relocating, or school and university students returning home for summer holidays are allowed to enter South Australia from Victoria.
But anyone arriving from Victoria into SA would still have to self-isolate for a fortnight, it wouldn't be a free-for-all movement across state lines. However, they could do that isolation at a home rather than a quarantine hotel.
