CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Cardinals never looked right.

Kyler Murray air-mailed a wide-open Larry Fitzgerald on the first drive, a punt was partially blocked and the defense allowed a touchdown drive to start the game. And it never got better in a stunning 31-21 loss to the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.

Save for a 48-yard scramble from Murray, the longest run by a Cardinals QB since 1950, and a Patrick Peterson interception, the game was devoid of many highlights as the Cardinals (2-2) dropped their second straight game.

The Panthers (2-2) dominated both sides of the line of scrimmage, and grinded out 444 yards of offense. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, save for his one errant pass Peterson picked, was good -- 26 of 37 for 276 yards and two touchdowns..

DeAndre Hopkins played and had seven catches for 41 yards. But the offense never got going. Fitzgerald had just two catches for four yards, and while Murray had three touchdown passes, he only had 133 yards as the passing game never developed down the field.
