Black Lives Matter: Pictures from Langley Park protest as Perth rally gets underway - The West Australian

The Black Lives Matter rally is underway in Perth, with at least 8000 people expected to gather in Langley Park this afternoon.
The protest is going ahead despite pleas from the Police Commissioner, WA Premier and the Prime Minister that such a large gathering risks sparking a COVID-19 outbreak.
The Chinese community have donated around 11,000 masks to prevent the spread of coronavirus, as organisers insist they are taking precautions to ensure social distancing measures are in place.
Among those marching will be WA Health Minister Roger Cook’s wife Carly Lane.
Cook revealed his wife, who is Aboriginal, would be taking part in the rally on The West Live with Jenna Clarke this week. Cook said he will not take part.
This was despite Premier Mark McGowan toughening his stance on Saturday’s event, which aims to raise awareness about Aboriginal deaths in custody, but said he would not ban the protest.
