A man and woman are on the run after they allegedly caused a dramatic car crash in Melbourne's west then fled the scene once they were helped out of their upturned car.
They were in a silver Holden sedan that allegedly hit a red Suzuki at the intersection of Coburns Road and Perry Close in Melton at about 7am.
The force of the crash pushed the Suzuki into a power pole, knocking the pole down, and led to the Holden flipping onto its side, police said.
The woman driving the Suzuki suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
A man and woman were helped out of the Holden before they ran from the scene.
Firefighters were on scene alongside police due to concern about fluid that was leaking from one of the cars after the crash.
Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the collision or has information or dash cam footage related to the crash to get in touch.
