A 17-year-old boy was found with stab wounds at a house on McDougall Street, Casino, by emergency services, who were called at 1.20am this morning.
He was treated by police and paramedics, but couldn't be saved.
Police believed the attack was targeted.
The 18-year-old was arrested this morning at a home in the town.
He was taken to Casino Police Station where he is assisting police with inquiries.
Crime scene has been set up at the home and is being forensically examined, police said.
