Two toddlers are in a critical condition after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool at Casula in Sydney’s south west.
Emergency services were called to a home on Lakewood Crescent at 2.45pm on Saturday after the two infants were discovered unresponsive in the pool.
Police performed CPR on the 18-month-old girl and 23-month-old boy until ambulances arrived.
Nine News reported the children were only out of their family's line of sight for five minutes before they were discovered in the water.
One was taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead and the other to Liverpool Hospital, where family are keeping a bedside vigil.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
