The UK Government's chief medical adviser has warned that restrictions on everyday life in the UK will need to be in place until a coronavirus vaccine can be developed.
Chris Whitty said there was a need to be "realistic" about how long it would take to develop a cure or vaccine, and the chances of it happening in the next year are "incredibly small".
