In a rare display of public humiliation, police released footage of the brutal moment the car was crushed for scrap metal.
"He needs to realise, if he gets another car and continues, we'll do the same thing," Gold Coast District Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon said.
"The next car will be crushed, and the next one he gets will be crushed."
Police also released footage of officers tracking down the man, who allegedly sped off in an attempt to avoid being arrested.
The dog squad was used in the hunt for the 26-year-old, who was located in Southport.
"Get on the ground I can see you mate," police are heard saying in the footage.
He was charged with evading police, driving unlicensed and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
Police say the man is a regular offender.
In January, he was charged with one count of dangerous driving, driving unlicensed while allegedly hooning outside a police station.
Police said releasing the footage was a warning to hoons.
"If you continue to flout the road rules and put other motorists at risk by operating your vehicle in a dangerous manner, make no mistake, police will track you down, confiscate your vehicle and sell it to the highest bidder; whether that be at auction, or scrap metal," Hanlon said.
