Man extradited from Thailand over 2014 murder of Sydney father - 9News

A man has been extradited from Thailand and charged over his alleged role in the 2014 murder of a Sydney father in the city's Inner West.

Bradley Dillon, 25, was lured to his death via a text message in 2014 while trying to settle a meagre debt for his sister.

Dillon had been chasing repayment of $2000 his sister had lent to a member of the secretive Saint Michael Fight Club.

Bradley Dillon was stabbed and gunned down in 2014.

He was stabbed at least four times and shot three times after descending stairs into an underground car park in Leichhardt.

Dillon managed to make it onto Lords Road where he collapsed and died despite the efforts of emergency services to revive him.

Police applied and were granted an arrest warrant for 33-year-old Antonio Bagnato, the cousin of Carbone, who had been remanded in prison in Thailand.

Detectives travelled to Thailand to formally extradite Bagnato who has since arrived back in Sydney at 6am on Saturday.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with an outstanding arrest warrant for murder.

Bagnato will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.

Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said Bagnato's extradition to Australia followed years of behind-the-scenes work by police.

"Concurrent to various court processes, investigators have continued to work tirelessly to ensure this man faced justice for his alleged involvement in Mr Dillon's murder," Doherty said.

"Today's result could not have been achieved without the ongoing support and assistance of our international law enforcement partner agencies – particularly the Royal Thai Police and Australian Federal Police.

"Bradley was a father who was senselessly murdered, and the simple fact is that if you engage in that sort of violent behaviour, police will always track you down and hold you to account," he said.
