Restaurant Saints and Council, owned by former Cafe Intermezzo CEO William Pitts, brings all-day dining, heated patio seats, and flexible seating options to Colony Square when it opens Friday, December 10, in Midtown.
Opening at 7 a.m. for breakfast, Saints and Council allows people to pick up and move about the dining room and bar at their leisure throughout a meal. That could mean starting off with drinks on the patio by the fire pit or coffee and snacks on the couches inside, before moving to a table for a full meal, and ending an evening with a nightcap at the bar.
Rather than being assigned to a single server (or to a single space,) Saints and Council uses digital technology scanned using a smart phone that recognizes where people are in the restaurant. Food and drinks are then delivered accordingly. Eventually, Pitts hopes to evolve this technology to afford people the ability to preorder food and have it waiting at their table upon arrival to Saints and Council.
Look for Southern ham benedict, sweet and savory Dutch baby pancakes, and bruleed brioche French toast at breakfast, with soups, salads, burgers, and sandwiches at lunch, followed by entrees like a glazed bone-in pork chop or cast iron-seared yellowfin tuna during dinner. For dessert, there’s a baked apple crumble Dutch with vanilla ice cream and s’mores toasted table side.
Expect cocktails, non-alcoholic mixed drinks, local beer, and wine served from the bar. Saints and Council also offers several coffee drinks and a selection of creative takes on hot chocolate on the menu. Think Cookies and Cream hot chocolate mixed with milk and white chocolates and whipped cream topped with crumbled Oreos.
A central bar with face-to-face seating anchors the dining room, which features a stone fireplace, dining nooks, three half moon booths, and more casual seating areas throughout the space. Outside, a large patio includes a fire pit and offers seating at tables and booths with individual heated seats. Yes, just like heated seats in a car.
Saints and Council joins previously opened restaurants Brown Bag Seafood Company, Establishment, Sukoshi, Sweetgreen, and dine-in theater iPic and its Italian restaurant Serena Pastificio at Colony Square. Food hall Politan Row and cocktail bar Jo Jo’s Beloved opened earlier this summer development, which is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar revamp.
The relocated Holeman and Finch Public House, a location of Atlanta Persian restaurant Rumi’s Kitchen, and an outpost of King of Pops should open early next year at Colony Square.
1221 Peachtree Street, saintsandcouncil.com. Open daily 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Click here for menus.
Public transit information: Colony Square is accessible via both the Arts Center and Midtown MARTA stations, although Arts Center Station is closer.

It is highly advised people wear masks indoors or in crowded situations, regardless of vaccination status, to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
