A man is dead after being shot by police and a woman has been rushed to hospital after an incident at a park in Melbourne's north-west.
Emergency services were called to John Coutts Reserve in Gladstone Park after reports of a stabbing just after 3.30pm.

Paramedics took a woman to hospital in a critical condition. Police confirmed the man had been shot by officers.
A large police presence remains at the scene this evening.
