A Perth woman has posted a hilarious plea for alcohol deliveries after the State Government yesterday announced the nation’s ‘broadest proof of vaccination’ rules.
Proof of vaccination will be required to visit public and private hospitals, aged care facilities, all hospitality venues including restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, clubs, nightclubs and dine-in fast food venues from January 31.
The unvaccinated will also be banned from museums, cinemas, the zoo, gyms, bottle shops, amusement parks, indoor entertainment venues and the entire Crown complex. They will be permitted to get take-away food and visit roadhouses and petrol stations.
And it’s the bottle shop ban that’s understandably creating most concern among certain unvaxxed members of society.
Their bodies may be temples when it comes to big pharma, but when it comes to big booze - not so much.
In the Facebook group The Real Residents of Secret Harbour, one concerned - or simply funny - woman posted this beseeching message on Friday:
“Looking for a fully jabbed to buy and deliver me booze twice a week from 31 of January. Cheers.”
While some commenters came back with the predictable “just get vaccinated”, others recognised the opportunities for commercial gain straight away.
“What a great idea for a side hu$$le,” one wrote.
“If you’re set up as a business and vaxxed, 100 per cent,” someone agreed.
“This is bloody brilliant, someone could earn a lot of money here,” another wrote.
One scallywag suggested he would do it “at 20 per cent tax” with his choice of booze.
But the author was having none of it.
“No thanks,” she replied.
