Police search air, land and sea for missing Gold Coast swimmer - 9News

Police said a 25-year-old woman and 26-year-old man went swimming off the Esplanade at Surfers Paradise about 10pm and witnesses saw them struggling.

Bystanders were able to help the woman but were unable to get the man, who hasn't been seen since, back to shore.

A land, sea and air search began and was set to continue at first light, they announced early this morning.

The man was last scene near tower 34 wearing only black shorts.
